Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.”
At Grove Christian School, we believe that our sports program should reflect our school’s mission statement – to provide a Christ-centered environment that integrates learning with biblical faith so that students can achieve God’s purpose for their lives—spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially.
Athletics at GCS are an important part of the Christ-centered experience. It is just one of the methods for developing well-rounded individuals. Participation in sports provides opportunities for students to build godly qualities such as self-discipline, self-control, endurance, submission to authority, sportsmanship, as well as teamwork. These real-life experiences build Christian character.
Our athletic program augments the school experience by teaching student-athletes to set personal goals that challenge and motivate them beyond their normal activities of daily school life. At Grove, we seek to build athletes who are Christian leaders in the school and in their community.
Grove Christian School is a member of the Virginia Metro Athletic conference (VMAC) and Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA).
