Who We Are

A Message From David Baum, Interim Head of School

“Grove Christian School is founded on a deep love for Jesus, His people, and His Word.  This serves as the compass directing us to form strong partnerships with parents, building a biblically centered curriculum, and helping students develop and deploy their God given gifts.

At Grove Christian School, we strive to weave the Gospel into the fabric of every lesson, every interaction, and every aspect of campus life. Through daily bible studies, chapel services, and an intentional Christian curriculum, we provide an environment where our faith is infused within the fabric of the school. Our students are not only encouraged to excel academically but also to deepen their relationship with God and their fellow students. It is truly within those relationships that lives are transformed.

The legacy of Grove Christian School is a living testament to the ongoing work of Christ seen in the lives of our students who are servant leaders that follow Jesus and impact the generations, the nation, and the world.”

The History of Grove

Dr. Vander Warner served as Senior Pastor for Grove Avenue Baptist Church for 26 years. He founded Grove Christian School in 1978 so that the church could be a vibrant part of meeting the spiritual needs of families and provide an academically excellent education as well. Today, Dr. Warner and his wife, Winnie, are still committed prayer warriors for Grove Christian School.

I wanted a church that met the needs of the families. Things were happening in those days, headed toward where they are now, where there cannot be prayer at school. There were no longer chapel programs so biblical Christianity had pretty much begun to be pushed out of education, and I knew that to most families, nothing was more important to them than the education of their children. That was wise. So I wanted a facility that would help meet the needs of families that really wanted a good education and wanted their kids to be nurtured as believers as well. Now more than ever, it is important that we provide an education that is second to none and with an atmosphere that is open to students’ spiritual needs.”  – Dr. Vander Warner

School Mission

Grove Christian School exists to partner with Christian parents by providing a Christ-centered environment that integrates learning with biblical faith so that students can achieve God’s purpose for their lives—spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially.

School Vision

At Grove Christian School, we equip servant leaders to follow Jesus to transform generations and nations and impact the world.

Accreditation

In the realm of education, accreditation serves as a crucial benchmark, indicating that an institution has met specific standards and requirements set by accrediting bodies. One such accreditation organization that plays a significant role in evaluating and endorsing educational institutions is the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Who is ACSI? It is a global organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening Christian schools worldwide. ACSI provides a framework for educational excellence rooted in Christian values and principles.

One of the key components of ACSI’s commitment to quality education is its accreditation process. ACSI accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation process designed to assess the academic, spiritual, and operational aspects of Christian schools. This accreditation is not only a recognition of an institution’s commitment to educational quality but also a testament to its dedication to integrating a Christian worldview into all aspects of teaching and learning.

The accreditation process is not a one-time event but an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Schools are encouraged to use the feedback provided during the accreditation process to enhance their programs, teaching methods, and overall educational experience for students. In October of 2022, Grove Christian School was re-accredited by ACSI for a full six-year term.
